What to avoid

Do not add Grain or push Noise Reduction positive — Provia 100F was a fine-grain stock, so Grain OFF and Noise Reduction -2 keep textures crisp instead of plasticky. Avoid flat, heavily overcast light: this recipe’s Highlight +2 and Shadow +2 want contrast to work with, and in dull light the deep shadows can block up. It is also not a skin-flattering portrait profile — the cool -1 Red shift and slide contrast are built for landscape, architecture and vivid travel colour, not soft complexions.
